Some characters in my book are similar to other characters that I have seen. Sloan is similar to Vernon Dursley from the Harry Potter series. They both are total jerks to the main character. They also hate foreign or magical objects. Galbatorix is comparable to Lord Voldemort. He was a very gifted dragon rider, just like Tom Riddle was a very gifted wizard. Galbatorix overthrew the other dragon riders and Voldemort overthrew the Ministry of Magic. Eragon is like Harry because they start off seemingly worthless, but they find out they have something or discovered something special.
