This book is a cool book because one of the real life issues that it addresses is that the government doesn't always work in the favor of the people. Eragon lives in a very poor village and no matter how much the people plea to the government, the government doesn't care in slightest bit about their town. Also it adresses the issue of people being very poor in the world. Eragon lives in a family that just barely makes enough money to survive the harsh winter that happens in his area.

In my book, I believe that the main character, Eragon, is a round and dynamic character. He feels hopeful when he finds the egg (which he thought was a stone at first) in The Spine. He feels angry when he finds out that the egg was not worth anything for the traders that came to town. He feels cheerful when he raises the dragon and it grows up. Also, he learns throughout the story that things may not always be what they seem at first. This happens because he thought that the egg was just a worthless stone after talking to the traders. However, the stone turns out to be a dragon egg. That is pretty awesome.

In my book, Eragon, he finally found the traders. When he brought the mysterious stone to the traders, he found out that the stone was worth nothing. They also found out that the stone was hollow. Eragon was not happy when he brought the stone back home. Suddenly, he saw the stone cracked and out came a baby dragon. He later befriended the dragon and raised it in the woods until it grew up. Eragon and the dragon were great friends. I believe that the theme is: it's not good to let a first impression completely define something.

I think that Sloan might not have reacted negatively to the egg just because he hates Eragon. He might have had a bad experience in the Spine. Maybe someone close to him had a bad experience. Could this be hinting that something bad could happen with the stone? I don't know... yet. Also, why did Horst help out Eragon and buy his meat for him. Are they connected on a deeper level? Or was Horst just feeling generous. I am yet to find out what answers and clues lie throughout this book. These characters could have a huge impact on the story. Like I said before, I don't know. But, answers will be revealed someday.

My book, Eragon, is a compelling and interesting title. The whole thing about the stone/egg is very mysterious. What is so bad about the spine that made Sloan so scared of the stone/egg. The characters are well developed as well. Sloan is pretty much a jerk who isn't charitable and doesn't like Eragon very much. Horst helps Eragon buy meat so that he and his family will have food during the winter. Right now, they are waiting for the traders to come so they can sell the stone/egg to them and earn some money. I wonder what will happen in the future of this book. Will the traders come? Will Eragon survive this winter? Will Sloan stop being such a jerk? And finally, what lies behind the mystery of the mysterious stone/egg thingymabobber?

I would recommend this book to people who like the Harry Potter series because it involves a normal person that stumbles into a world of mystery. It also involves dragons. You would also like this if you like The Lord of the Rings because a hero does go on an adventure and there is a mysterious object that they find. You might also like this if you like the Narnia books. There are magical creatures like elves and Shade that I mentioned in an earlier post, so you might find some similar topics. Overall, this book is for the lover of fantasy and magic. If you want to enter a vast world of fantasy, Eragon just might be the right book for you.

 My book is called Eragon. In the prologue of my book, it showed a chase scene between a character known as Shade and three elves. Two of the elves are killed, but one is able to escape Shade. Much later, a character named Eragon is hunting in a place called The Spine. He stumbles across a mysterious stone, which he uses for money. I predict that in the story, the stone will turn out to be a dragon egg. I can draw this prediction from my background knowledge of the book. Also, the butcher named Sloan seems to fear the stone/egg. Why does he fear this egg? This is similar to Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's/Philosopher's Stone because they also find a mysterious stone. This stone, however is very different. This reminded me of the time I found a cool fossil while I was at Caesar's Creek. This also reminds me of how people used to fear other people of different origin, just like how the butcher feared the stone, as it was a foreign object.
